TechwaY has pioneered SPIDER, the first real-time switch dedicated to ARINC 818 video protocol. The latest version of the device offers new functionalities for improved and enhanced performances. SPIDER, claimed to be the world’s first ARINC 818 video switch, provides two unique upgrades: a higher rate management and a multi-rate function. Built on the FPGA technology associated with optical interfaces with very high density, it manages two rates in one unique box. Mono-rate version of the device provides 10 incoming optical links to 10 outbound optical links, compatible with the ARINC 818 protocols up to 4.25Gbps. Multi-rate version, with virtual separation, divides the switch into two configurations 4x4 and 6x6 with a different rate for each configuration. It ensures that video frames remain intact and void of corruption during switching, and is compatible with ARINC818-2 standard.
