Motorsport connector integrates clinch nut to save time and weight

Lane Electronics has added a new version of Souriau's 8STA circular connector to its product portfolio aimed specifically at the motorsport sector. Designed to save installation time and weight, the new connector features integrated clinch nuts which remove the need for nut plates making assembly easier. It is available in 12 shell sizes from 02 to 24 for standard crimp and PCB receptacles. Featuring a rugged aluminium body plated with conductive black Zinc as standard, 8STA connectors incorporate a positive locking mechanism with locked colour indicators. Designed to be scoop proof, the connectors are fitted with gold-plated copper alloy contacts and features an endurance level of 500 mating cycles. Operating temperature is - 55C to +175C and, when mated, the connector meets the requirements of IP67 and can withstand salt spray and motorsport fluids, says the company.
