Horizontal-mount FPC/FFC ZIF connectors with a 0.5mm contact pitch

Hirose's FH33 series SMT 0.5mm contact pitch horizontal-mount FPC/FFC ZIF connectors are now available from RS Components. Supporting FPC/FFC with a standard thickness of 0.3mm, the FPC/FFC SMT ZIF connectors have an increased FPC/FFC retention force, a low profile 1.2mm above board design and a small depth of 2.5mm. A rotational finger operated flip-lock actuator allows easy insertion and reliable connection of the FPC/FFC. The actuator also negates the need for side latches allowing connectors to be mounted side by side. The body of the FH33 series 0.5mm FPC/FFC ZIF connectors is made from beige UL94V-0 polyamide with a solid bottom surface (no contact exposure) enabling the FPC/FFC connector to be mounted over conductive traces on the PCB and has built-in side guides allow accurate insertion of the FPC/FFC into the connector. The contacts are made from phosphor bronze with a gold flash plating.
