Texas – Industry-first 100V synchronous buck regulator reduces solution size (LM5017)
Oct 18 2012 - New Technologies and Energy Harvesting [More New Technologies and Energy Harvesting Articles]Designing power solutions for high-voltage systems presents challenges with board space, thermal performance, and total solution cost. Design time is critical, too, requiring solutions that are easier to use and design in. These issues are common in applications like high-voltage industrial, automotive battery management, and non-isolated and isolated telecom systems that require 100V transient protection.
To help address these challenges, Texas Instruments has introduced the LM5017, LM5018, and LM5019, the industry’s first family of 100V synchronous integrated buck regulators providing unparalleled power density and ease of use. The LM5017 with integrated FETs provides 600mA of output current and operates up to 100V, delivering peace of mind to designers facing high-voltage input transient conditions, says the company.
