Stackpole’s new RHC2512 is a 2W thick-film chip resistor which utilizes specialised materials, design, and processing to achieve low heat rise compared to other high power chip resistors.
The device has a hot-spot temperature of just under 120C at 2W where most 2512 size chip resistors may reach that temperature at only 1W of applied power. This extremely low heat rise is outstanding for any power supply or power control application where board temperatures must be kept low.
