Oct 24 2012 - Switches, Relays & Onboard [More Switches, Relays & Onboard Articles]Latest fro Knitter-switch is the YFT ME Series of vandal-resistant metal keyboards designed for use outdoors as well as in a wide variety of indoor applications where the environment can be ‘challenging’ such as industrial automation equipment and automotive diagnostic systems.
Made from stainless steel, YFT ME Series keyboards are rated to IP65 as standard but can be sealed to IP69K as an option. A full custom design service is offered with small minimum order quantities.
The keyboards incorporate circular keys from 11mm to 17mm diameter with the option of backlighting. According to knitter-switch, the keys have a lifetime up to 3 million cycles.
In addition to industrial automation equipment and automotive diagnostic systems, the metal keyboards are also suitable for many types of self-service machines, including bank cash machines, as well as pharmaceutical and telecommunications systems, says the company.
