Avnet Embedded – Wireless modules cater for host systems, sensor and low-energy needs (MESH and Wireless M-Bus)

Avnet Embedded has announced the addition of Panasonic wireless modules to its portfolio. Customers across Europe can now benefit from this latest extension, with a comprehensive range of products, from devices for tight integration into host systems to host independent devices ideal for sensor and low energy applications. Different Bluetooth stacks are available as are M-Bus, Mesh and ANT supported devices, says the company.

Panasonic Wireless modules include a compelling range of 2.4GHz single-mode modules spanning Classic Bluetooth (2.1EDR and 3) and Bluetooth 4.0 (Low energy/Bluetooth SMART) as well as Dual Mode (Smart Ready) modules with Bluetooth Low energy (Bluetooth SMART) and Classic Bluetooth. Additionally, classic Bluetooth and ANT modules are available.

Within the range of products, a number of standard form factors exist and customers also have the opportunity to utilise the shared form factors to create differentiated products from one base design. Additionally, Host Controller Interface (HCI) variants are available so hardware cost savings can be made when paired to suitable base board processors. Different firmware options and software stacks are offered. In the Sub GHz ISM market, a range of transceiver modules include MESH and Wireless M-Bus modules, and this range further extends into the 2.4GHz frequency range.
