Sep 18 2012 - Power [More Power Articles]Mouser is now stocking the world’s smallest 1.8A brushed DC motor driver - the Texas Instruments (TI) DRV8837 – a device which is smaller than the next nearest competitor by 75%, enabling sleeker designs.
At 280mohm, the RDS(ON) of the DC motor driver is half that of competing devices, supporting 1.8A continuous output current with ‘excellent’ thermal performance. The small package (2mm x 2mm, 8-pin WSON), low RDS(ON), and ultra-low 35nA sleep current make DRV8837 ideal for battery-powered or low-voltage motion control applications such as portable medical products and robotics.
