ITAC – Rugged IP65 backlit metal keyboards for kiosk and industrial applications (ITMKB-64A-TP-BLS)
Sep 27 2012 - Subs & Systems [More Subs & Systems Articles]Rugged human-machine interfaces (HMI) specialist, ITAC has announced a new family of backlit, rugged metal keyboards for kiosk and demanding industrial applications. The keyboards each have 65 laser-etched keys (black, grey or sliver), individually lit by LEDs (blue, green or red), and an integral touchpad. The keys are made from temperature-resistant polycarbonate and the brushed stainless steel front panels are supported on an aluminium alloy back plate.
When appropriately mounted, the whole assembly is rated to IP65, making it dust-proof and liquid-proof, and its robust construction provides high tolerance against vandalism.
The ITMKB-64A-TP-BLS series keyboards come with PS/2 or USB interfaces, operate from a single +5V supply and draw 20mA current. They meet relevant international safety and EMC requirements and are CE compliant. Custom layouts are available to meet the requirements of individual applications, says the company.
