Avnet Abacus has signed a pan-European franchise agreement to represent Delta Electronics Group, the world’s largest manufacturers of power supplies by sales revenue. Delta has held this position since 2002 with products mainly addressing the ODM/OEM sectors such as CLiQ and CLiQ II series DIN-rail power supplies and modules, PMC/PMT/PJ series panel mount/open-frame supplies and MDS series medical adapters and open frames.

Delta’s DIN-rail PSUs all feature conformal coating of the PCB and come in full aluminium or plastic casings to protect the supplies and improve performance. Single-phase 12V CLiQ units are available in 15W, 30W, 60W and 100W variants; single and 3-phase 24V units are available covering 60W, 120W, 240 and 480W. Single-phase 24V CLiQ II units are also available at 60W, 120W, 240W, 480W and 960W with the 60 and 120W units benefitting from additional 20A and 40A redundancy modules respectively. They are compact, IP20-compliant and facilitate simple wire connection. The high-efficiency, RoHS-compliant units are expected to last 10 years and feature over-load, over-voltage and over-temperature protection.

Single-phase PMC/PMT/PJ panel-mount and open-frame supplies are available in a range of options, initially 5V at 35W with 15W, 50W and 100W options available in the near future, also at 12V at 35W, 50W and 100W; and 24V at 35W, 50W, 75W, 100W, 150W and 300W. The RoHS-compliant PSUs are expected to last 10 years, while the PMC series have an MTBF of over 700,000 hours. The universal input devices also feature over-load, over- voltage and over-temperature protection.

Compact universal input MDS medical adapters and open-frame power supplies, all UL 60601-1 3rd edition approved, are offered in 60W, 90W and 150W adaptor variants with 12V, 15V, 19V or 24V output. The open-frame series runs from 40W, 65W, 100W to 400W with similar output configurations as the adaptors. The high efficiency units feature a no-load power consumption of between 0.3W and 0.5W and brownout recovery. Devices are RoHS and Energy Star Compliant (Level V), meet medical safety agency requirements.

Delta DC-DC converters offer ranges for industrial, telecom and transportation applications. Recently a newly expanded series of low-power, 1W-6W, industrial standard DC-DC converters has been added to the portfolio together with the S24SE/S24DE (1-in x 1-in, 10W to 30W with wide input range 9V to 36Vin). The wide range of industrial and telecom series includes state-of-the-art ultra density high power designs for server and ITC applications. The non-isolated POL series covers the need of power consuming fast microprocessors and programmable devices. Additionally there is the new isolated IP67 200W to 400W box-type DC-DC converter for transportation applications says the company.

Mr. K.K. Chong, sales director Thailand, Delta Electronics Europe, said: “Avnet Abacus has the knowledge, experience and focus to help us deliver our leading power supplies to the European market.”

Cor Van Dam, marketing director, power, Avnet Abacus in Europe, added: “We are delighted to be able to bring the world’s largest power supply manufacturers products to our diverse customer base. Delta products are a welcome addition to our expanding ‘Best Fit’ Power program which offers solutions to our customer’s power supply demands.”
