Mouser – Smart high-side switches incorporate n-channel MOSFET device (Fairchild - FDBS/FDDS)

Fairchild’s FDBS/FDDS smart high-side switches are now available from Mouser. They incorporate an n-channel MOSFET device featuring a charge pump, current controlled input and diagnostic feedback with load current sense and integrated Smart Trench chip-on-chip technology.

The FDDS100H06 also comes with ground-referenced CMOS-compatible input and diagnostic output with integrated protection functions. The devices incorporate internal self-protection features that prevent damage to the end systems for conditions such as over-temperature, shorted-load, load-dump and over-voltage, providing high reliability in areas such as demanding automotive applications. Qualified to AEC Automotive standards, they also feature current limitation, short circuit protection, very low standby power, and ESD protection.

Typical applications include power switch with current sense diagnostic feedback for DC ground loads, all types of resistive / inductive /capacitive loads, and the replacement of electromechanical relays, fuses and discrete circuits, says the company.
