Aug 24 2012 - Passives [More Passives Articles]Taiyo Yuden’s MCOIL metal power inductor series is now available from Mouser. The devices are optimised for use as choke coils for power supply circuits in compact mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs that are becoming smaller, thinner, and more feature-rich.
The two product classes of the MCOIL series, the wire-wound chip power inductor MAMK2520 and metal-core SMD power inductor MDMK2020, combine with Taiyo Yuden’s advanced process technology (already established in the BR and NR series) to achieve the best-in-class DC bias characteristics in the industry as well as size reduction. MAMK 2520T2R2M (inductance value 2.2µH, saturation current 2300mA) and MDMK2020T2R2M (inductance value 2.2µH, saturation current 2000mA) offer higher saturation current than existing Taiyo Yuden products, says the company.
