Aerco now supplies the extra-small-bore crimp contact connectors that have been recently added to the Harwin Datamate family of high reliability 2mm pitch connectors. Designed for use in a wide range of challenging applications, this new contact enables designers to use wire that is less bulky and lighter and achieve a higher packing density.

The new contact is gold plated to ensure good conductivity, has a current rating of 3.3A in isolation and 3A on all contacts simultaneously. Contact resistance is 25mohm, durability 500 operations and operating temperature range -55C to +125C. Wire gauges AWG 28-32 can be accommodated allowing engineers to use the lowest wire gauge for their signal applications.

Proven in its ability to resist shock and vibration, Datamate is ideally suited to safety critical applications where high reliability is a necessity such as robotics, commercial and military aerospace, military vehicles, rail and transportation, medical and the oil and gas industries. The new extra-small bore contact will be especially suitable for weight-constrained avionics applications such as UAVs and other applications such as medical instrumentation and portable equipment where size and weight are important criteria.
