BVM – Micro ATX motherboard with i7/i5/i3 Sandy Bridge processor (MS-C73)
Jul 10 2012 - Subs & Systems [More Subs & Systems Articles]The MS-C73 is the latest addition to The BVM Group’s comprehensive family of industrial grade motherboards.
The Micro ATX (244mm x 244mm) form factor motherboard has two PCI and two PCIe slots for expansion cards and the platform delivers higher performance and improved energy efficiency in a secure and manageable operating environment.
Combining low power with high performance, the unit is based on the Intel Mobile QM67 chipset managing Intel Sandy Bridge second-generation 32nm Core i7/i5/i3 Celeron Mobile processors in the rPGA988B socket. The integrated HD Graphic 3000 core provides substantial video performance gains and lower power consumption over previous generations.
The MS-C73 is intended for use in a variety of applications such as industrial control and automation, gaming, medical Instruments, digital video surveillance servers, military systems, print imaging and digital signage where heavy-duty graphics requirements and raw processing power are needed coincidentally.
The unit is highly specified. Up to 16GB of 1600MHz SO-DIMM is supported; four 300MB/s SATA II and two 600MB/s SATA3 interfaces are provided for mass storage. VGA, DVI and a 24-bit LVDS dual channel video are supported, HD audio is provided by a Realtek ALC888 Codec. Two GigaLAN ports, five RS232 ports, one RS232/422/485 port and ten USB2.0 ports provide external I/O communications. A PCIe x16 slot for 3D graphics and enterprise storage, a PCIe x4 general-purpose slot, two PCI, Mini-PCIe and Mini-PCI socket expansion interfaces are onboard. An 8-bit GPIO interface and a watchdog timer are also provided; power is from a standard 24-pin ATX PSU, says the company.
