RS – Compact high-power LEDs for indoor and outdoor lighting applications (LCW CQ7P.PC-KTLP-5J7K)

RS Components has announced availability of the OSLON Square high-power LED from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors. The new device is designed for use in a wide range of indoor and outdoor lighting applications, such as retrofit lamps, LED clusters, spotlights, task lights, and streetlights.

Developed using OSRAM’s latest power chip technology, the robust OSLON Square LED has a maximum driving current of 1.5A, and remains efficient even at the highest driving currents. Supplied in a compact surface mount package with a footprint of just 3mm x 3mm, OSLON Square is the smallest high-power LED on the market, ideal for high density arrays where maximum flux over area is needed, for example in LED lamps. A white reflective layer in the package re-uses the light and directs it to the secondary optic to ‘guarantee’ the highest lumen efficacy.

The LEDs are available in a broad range of colour temperatures and colour rendering indexes. OSRAM’s fine bin system covers the area of 2-step MacAdams ellipse, ensuring perfect colour consistency for all lighting applications. The latest phosphor conversion technology ensures full colour temperature stability over extended lifetimes and coupled with an exemplary low thermal resistance value of only 3.8K/W enables low operating temperatures which improve system efficiencies says the company.
