Rittal – New enclosures target areas where stringent hygiene and easy cleaning are required
May 15 2012 - Subs & Systems [More Subs & Systems Articles]Where there is an emphasis on stringent hygiene requirements and ease of cleaning, Rittal’s Hygienic Design (HD) enclosures, with a protection category of IP69K, provide a key element in the design of open processes in the food industry and clean rooms, says the company.
Available in a number of sizes and utilising proprietary HD system accessories, the following benefits have been designed into the stainless steel cases and enclosures. Simple cleaning with inclined surfaces of three degrees on all sides and ten degrees on the front cover to prevent debris remaining on the enclosure surfaces; an all round gap free silicone seal between enclosure door or cover; seam free construction and hygiene compliant hexagon locks and fixings.
For easy assembly and maintenance, standard items include captive quick release cover locks on terminal boxes and a one-piece easily replaceable silicone seal as well as interchangeable door hinges internal to the enclosure.
For component installation and greater flexibility internal rails are supplied with 6.25mm hole pitch, KL support rails that can be fitted directly and in the compact enclosure, a mounting plate.
