RFMD – New high-linearity low-noise I/Q converters for 9-16GHz applications (RFUV1002)
Apr 19 2012 - Design & Manufacture [More Design & Manufacture Articles]The MMIC upconverter and downconverter devices offer high performance and low cost for such high-frequency applications. The RFUV1002 and RFUV1003 upconverters incorporate an image rejection mixer, LO buffer amplifier, variable gain amplifier, and DC-decoupling capacitor. The RFRX1001 and RFRX1002 downconverters incorporate an image rejection mixer, LO buffer amplifier, integrated LNA, and DC-decoupling capacitor. Each device is packaged in a 5mm x 5mm QFN to simplify both system-level board design and volume assembly.
The combination of high performance and low-cost packaging makes the devices a cost-effective solution, ideally suited to point-to-point radio, satellite communications and military applications, says the company.
