Mouser – Cold-junction compensated thermocouple-to-digital converters (Maxim MAX31855)
Feb 16 2012 - Semiconductors [More Semiconductors Articles]Maxim’s MAX31855 cold-junction compensated thermocouple-to-digital converters are now available from Mouser. They perform cold-junction compensation and digitize the signal from a K-, J-, N-, T-, S-, R-, or E-type thermocouple.
The data is output in a signed 14-bit, SPI-compatible, read-only format. The converters resolve temperatures to 0.25C, allow readings as high as +1800C and as low as -270C, and exhibit thermocouple accuracy of ±2C for temperatures ranging from -200C to +700C for K-type thermocouples. The devices are ideal for a wide range of automotive, HVAC, and industrial applications, says the company.
