MSC – MEMS oscillator consumes only 6.5mA at 125MHz (SiTime SiT8004)
Jan 17 2011 - Passives [More Passives Articles]The new SiTime SiT8004 MEMS oscillator, in the 125MHz to 150MHz frequency range, is now available from MSC Vertriebs. Key features of the device are just 6.5mA typical power consumption and 1.2µA ultra low standby current.
Frequency stability of the oscillator device varies between ± 20ppm and ± 50ppm, according to the supply voltage – 1.8V, 2.5V, 2.8V or 3.3V – applied. Four industry-standard packages, from 2.5mm x 2mm to 7mm x 5mm, are available.
Due to its 50% to 75% lower power consumption compared to similar standard quartz oscillators, the SiT8004 is ideal for use in ‘green’ DDR, SSD, SAS, SATA, HDMI and video pixel clock applications as well as 1-Gigabit Ethernet, GPON and EPON network applications, says the company.
