Arrow – Compact and durable circular connectors for medical applications

A family of high-quality circular connectors, designed to meet the demanding requirements of compact medical applications is now available, from Arrow. The Amphenol ‘medimate easy’ connectors feature a lightweight and robust plastic medical housing and deliver ease of mating through an integrated push-pull locking mechanism. To help designers rapidly evaluate the connectors Arrow is also offering Amphenol ‘medimate easy’ connector sample kits.

Available with between two and 14 contacts, the new connectors provide robust solutions for a wide range of medical applications including patient monitoring systems, dental equipment, defibrillators and handheld operating units. Laboratory and test and measurement equipment and applications aimed at the growing home diagnostic market are also expected to embrace the new range.

The connectors, which are compatible with industry standard specifications, feature clear colour and mechanical coding and a keying system that ensures safe and simple mating. The standard design is optimised for easy cleaning and disinfection. Versions that are fully compatible with autoclave sterilisation are also available.

The connector range offers cable and inline mounting options and receptacles with front and rear mount options. Gold plated solder contacts are standard and voltage ratings are up to 500V. Lifespan is rated in excess of 3000 mating cycles, says the company.
